Four years after the village of Wellow on the outskirts of Bath lost its minibus service, its residents are rejoicing after launching their own minibus travel link.
The Wellow Community Bus has been funded by generous donations from the public and grants. The minibus will now provide a daily transport service which will provide an affordable and convenient transport link for the villagers.
The minibus will be driven by a collection of volunteer drivers who have all undergone rigorous training approved by leading transport bodies, as well as two professional drivers.
In total the minibus will provide school runs to three schools in the Bath area, as well as services to the park and ride facility on the outskirts of the city, and also a commuter service into Bath city centre.
As well as these scheduled trips, the minibus is also available for hire for private use.
Fares are reasonably prices starting from £1 each way to the park and ride facility, or £250 each way to the city centre. Season tickets can also be purchased starting at £20 per week.
