FA Cup kick-off delay to cause public transport chaos

This year FA Cup Final kick-off has been postponed to a later time, causing potential travel difficulties for both Manchester City and Wigan fans going to the match in Wembley. The time of kick-off is now 5:15pm on Saturday 11th May instead of its traditional 3 olock, and will now instead finish at approximately 7:15pm instead of 5. It the second time the match slot has been pushed back it happened last year with Chelsea win over Newcastle.

Issues with public transport times are expected to cause major problems for Northern-based fans attending the match in Wembley due to train times. The last train from London to Manchester leaves at 9:00pm, and with the match expected to finish at 7:15pm, fans will be left with a short amount of time to vacate the stadium and get to the station to catch the last train home (especially if there extra time and penalties.) This means many Northern-based fans could be left stranded in London if they do not manage to get to the station in time.
